If you bid on both sides of the causeway, you have probably been doing one job twice. Malaysia tenders have been sitting in the same feed as Singapore’s since late July — that release is written up in full in TenderWatch now covers Malaysia government tenders, and nothing there has changed. What that release did not include was notification. Malaysia was coverage and awards you could browse; the alerts stayed behind. If MyProcurement published something in your category late on a Friday, you found out whenever you next went looking.
That is what has shipped. Malaysia now sits inside the alert engine on the same terms as Singapore’s sources, so a second market no longer costs you a second habit of checking.
Exactly what you will be told
There are three kinds of alert, and all three now fire for both countries. You switch them on in the app’s Options screen. One of them follows the filters you have set — the sources and categories you picked yourself, not a guess at what might suit you. The other two are scoped to the tenders you bookmark, and it is worth knowing which is which.
- A new tender appears — follows your filters: a source and a category you are watching, in Singapore or Malaysia.
- A deadline is approaching — this one follows your bookmarks: a reminder when a tender you have bookmarked is closing within 48 hours, so something you meant to price does not quietly expire.
- A tender you bookmarked is awarded — also scoped to your bookmarks, not your filters. You get an award notice when a tender you have bookmarked is awarded — GeBiz and MyProcurement only, as CAG and SATS publish no awards. It names the supplier that won and the value awarded.
Two limits on that third alert are worth stating plainly rather than burying. The first is scope: the award notice follows your bookmarks, not your filters. It will not tell you about every award in a category you watch — only about tenders you bookmarked, which is the practical difference between tracking an outcome you care about and being told about all of them. So if you want to know how something ends, bookmark it while it is open. The second is coverage: award notices exist for GeBiz and MyProcurement only. Changi Airport Group and SATS publish no awards, so there is nothing for us to pass on from those two sources — you will get new-tender alerts from them, and closing reminders on any of their tenders you bookmark, but never an award. And an award notice names the supplier that won and the value awarded; it does not reveal what any other bidder offered, because that is not published either.
If you happen to use both platforms: iOS has caught up to the same v1.5.6 build as Android, so the two are now identical — no difference in features, coverage or price.
What an alert is, and what it is not
An alert is a prompt to go and look. It is not the official record, and it is not a decision. TenderWatch is an independent tool by Deep Forest Lab — not affiliated with, endorsed by, or representing any government agency or the portals it lists. Listings are for discovery only and may be incomplete or contain errors. Every listing links back to the official portal, where you download documents and submit your bid. We do not host documents or accept submissions. So treat the notification as your cue to open the source and confirm the details there before you commit anything.
